Izabella Little Gates

Izabella is the internationally published author of the Life Talk books. She has Polish roots, was born in Kenya, grew up in the bush, and completed her schooling in South Africa where she now lives.

Izabella studied and worked in the field of Information Technology, was IT Manager, and subsequently started a company specialising in IT Contracting and Human Resource solutions. It (SilverLine) became a market leader and was later sold.

Izabella then wrote the best-selling Life Talk For a Daughter based on guidelines she had originally written for her own daughter. She then followed by writing Life Talk for a Son (co-authored with Patrick Wilson), and most recently Life Talk for Parents (co-authored with Thomas Burkhalter). All three books are also available in Afrikaans (Lewenspraatjies met ’n Dogter, Lewenspraatjies met ‘n Seun, Lewenspraatjies met Ouers)

The enthusiastic response to the Life Talk books gave birth to the Life Talk Forum (see the Forum page) which Izabella established in response to demand. She now dedicates her time to working on youth and parenting issues, is a frequent guest on radio and TV programmes, and gives talks on related subjects.

Life Talk for a Daughter is also available in the UK and in Portugal, Spain, and all the Chinese speaking countries, and it is currently being translated into Arabic.

Co-author of Life Talk for Parents: Thomas Burkhalter

Thomas is a qualified educational psychologist, works primarily in private practice, both as an adult psychotherapist and as a family consultant, and serves as a case consultant at the Johannesburg Parent and Child Counselling Centre.

LIFE TALK FOR A SON

Co-author of Life Talk for a Son: Patrick Wilson Patrick works in the IT industry and has written a work of fiction aimed at teenagers. He is also a father to two teenage sons.
