The end of a year is often a bittersweet reflection.
It may have felt incredibly busy and stressful, with no time to catch your breath and being on-the-go all the time. There may have been challenges and set-backs, failure and disappointment but, in order to enjoy your rest and to embrace a new year with excitement, determination and renewed vigor, it is important to have some closure on the past year.
Discuss this with your children, talk them through the process and, in so doing, teach them the skill. When they look back, instead of seeing just the negative aspects and overwhelm, a different pattern will emerge. Reflect on significant events and achievements, on wonderful times had, new friends made perhaps, maybe even some lessons learnt that will make them more resilient and grateful for what they have and are able to do. Year-end reflections can truly inspire them for the new year to come.
The festive season is a wonderful time to gather with friends and family, reconnect and simply relax and enjoy life at a slower pace. Give freely of your time and love to those that matter most. Enjoy the time re-energising through laughter and relaxation.
May you all have a wonderful festive season, rest up and safe travels if you are going away.
Best wishes,
